The death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader-Ginsburg has created another political firestorm for the weeks to come. Since were so close to the election, doesnt it seem fair for Trump wait until afterward the election to replace her?
No, Trump should not wait.
Trump has nothing to lose and everything to gain by replacing RGB before the election
Some Democrats have brought up Merrick Garland, who was nominated by Obama but failed to become a SCOTUS judge. The GOP objection was that Obama was in the last six months of his second term, so the upcoming election should decide. Democrats will be quick to point out this occurrence, labeling it hypocrisy for conservatives to replace RGB when they rejected Garland.
Other leftists urged Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell to lead the way by not filling a SCOTUS seat this close to an election. He concluded with: Youd agree with this, especially in light of the Garland precedent, right?
Except, thats not what happened. The Merrick Garland circumstance was different because Obama was in his second term, and there would be a new president in six months, no matter the outcome. In this instance, we might have the same president in six months. What makes it worse is Democrats did not set any precedent by deciding it wouldnt be fair to fill an open SCOTUS seat only months away from a new presidency they tried to ram judge Garland down our throats anyways!
The only reason Garland is not sitting on SCOTUS is because Mitch McConnell and the Senate refused a hearing on Garland. The rationale was the constitution does not require a timeframe to hear the presidents SCOTUS nomination, so they waited.

Elections have consequences. We won, you lost. Get over it.
- Obama
The rules and tradition for appointing SCOTUS justices are clear. Theres no procedural reason to wait, its only political.
And if Trump and McConnell can pass it, then they should do so immediately.
Just one more example of liberals hypocrisy:

Dated September 17. The article claims the filibuster is racist.
No media ally McCain to help stop the vote, but Romney will speak up nay moment now.
I hope they pick the most conservative judge possible. No compromise picks. Gorsuch has been a bit of a disappointment IMO. The moderate Republicans need to make a choice. They’re either with us or they’re against us.
Well now we really see is if the Republicans in the Senate and if Trump has balls. Nominate now and vote now before the election. The way the Senate is working most of the members are really communists fools. Romney number one.
Almost October surprise. What a turd in the punch-bowl this is.
Sweep the knee Trump!
The truth is, if another way around, democrats would fill the seat even if there were days or seconds left before next election
Agreed, but for a different reason.
Whoever is nominated is going to be vilified as none have before (Kavanaugh was just a warmup). That means the Left will be going over the top (again) in spewing their bile, and that will resonate with the voters as well as the non-stop riots did.
Democrats cheat against other Democrats in the primaries. Of course they will cheat in the General Election
I had no idea, so I looked it up. This is the number of days from appointment to senate confirmation for Truman’s four USSC picks:
0
14
16
19
Start blasting this out, Trump campaign!

@TomFitton
Ruth Bader Ginsburg was confirmed 42 days after she was nominated by President Bill Clinton.
@RealDonaldTrumps nominee should get the same speedy consideration by the Senate.

power...use it or lose it

When RBG died the dems dream of stealing the election died with her. With RGB gone the reps have a clear and solid majority.
If the go with the riots option they loose, if they do nothing they loose, either way they are toast.
You know Democrats are going to attack any nominee. It’s a perfect time to remind people of how they smeared Kavanuagh and blatantly lie. They have no morals what so ever. It will be perfectly clear that they have an agenda to destroy our Republic.
All the more reason to not even bother with hearings. They're not required and the Democrats have demonstrated previously that they won't participate in good faith. We can fill the seat quicker without them, if McConnell exercises the leadership he needs to.
Furthermore, any Republican senator who stonewalls on this will be committing political suicide and they know it.
Delay would be divisive.
Mercy?? The only argument that could be made is politeness, which is laughable after everything the Left has put this country through. Plus there is the matter of what they are going to continue to put us through. Cruz is right, it is imperative that the seat be filled immediately.
