Jay Seculow said it would be Monday

He said the Jewish tradition is burial within 24 hours but this weekend is Rosh Hoshanah so she will be interred Monday

I noticed that even Tucker Carlson, Hannity, and Ingraham kept talking about RBG and “women’s rights.” Their guests were also conciliatory. Ingraham did mention in passing Ruth’s long-term advocacy of abortion on demand.

No doubt the Left has been setting up a series of prepared attacks on Amy Coney Barrett, for the last few years, that could be deployed quickly.

One of the candidates of the expanded list that was released ten days ago however, might not have that vulnerability.

At the constitutional convention, the issue of the SCOTUS was thee biggest thing they argued about.

Some wanted them voted in, some wanted term limits..etc.

Why are half senile people with one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel allowed to remain in job until death on SCOTUS? Very few retire, most die in office.

If they are too cowardly to make important decisions they don't belong on the court.

Why the rest of us are encouraged to retire at 65 with Medicare benefits but justices have to be carried out on a stretcher from SCOTUS?

No, the winner of the AZ Senate race will fill the five weeks or so left in the McCain term.

For what it’s worth, during Amy’s 2017 confirmation to the 7th Circuit, she got the votes of every Republican (including Collins and Murkowski), and 3 Democrats. So, at least, all of the shaky Republicans have voted for her on the 7th, except Romney.

Of course Murkowski has pretty much promised to side with the Democrats, Collins is fighting for re-election, and Romney wasn’t in the Senate at that time. But still, all but Romney have seen her before and voted for her.

Is this a special AZ law...early swearing in??

No, it's a special election to fill a vacancy.

McSally was appointed for the interim. Her term is over when the elected Senator wins. The elected Senator is entitled to the seat immediately after the election is certified.

However, the special election is to fill a vacancy in the remaining two years of the seat, so Arizona will be doing this all over again in 2022 when the seat is normally up for re-election.

“My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed,” she said.

I'll bet money that she didn't say that, it's all made up.

As someone else here pointed out, people dying of cancer are heavily medicated, usually with morphine. It's kind of an open secret that many die from the ever increasing amounts of morphine rather than the disease itself.

My own mother died of cancer and being there while it's happening is horrific, it's the worst thing I've ever seen. Someone a few days away from a cancer death is in no shape to formulate a coherent thought, they're so heavily medicated that they pretty much sleep all the time. Supposedly Ginsburg told this to her granddaughter a couple of days before her death. I call BS, she would have been in no shape to say much of anything at that time. This granddaughter also happens to be a radical leftist lawyer following in her grandmother's footsteps. Chances are she made up the whole thing.

Threading the needle....

Conscious of the fact that there shall be very difficult and trying scrutiny of ANY candidate Present Trump may nominate, as much by RINO Senators as by the opposition party, this is a problem in that it may take MUCH time to skirt all the obstacles raised, and get to the actual floor vote before the new Congress convenes in early January (with its probable changes to the makeup of the Senate), in a race fraught with many hazards.

You could not write a political fiction piece with this many twists and turns. If it were not really happening, nobody would find it believable.

Fiction has to follow some internal logic in its story line. Real life has no such limitation.

Installed is an odd word. Perhaps a true constitutionalist would have said inaugurated. I’m usually not a conspiracy but installed smacks of someone getting in who did not win. Was the fix in at the USSC? Or was this written by someone who is lying that RBG said this and doesn’t know the difference between installed and inaugurated.

Left cannot drag it out. If Mitch has the votes he will push it, they cannot stop it...thank you Harry Reid. A 4 v 4 SCOTUS could adversely impact down ticket Republicans including Senate candidates. If the left is allowed to ballot harvesting and find boxes of ballots weeks after, that will cost Senate and House Republicans as well. Even Collins and Romney realize that. They also know if they become the minority as a result of the betrayal, they would find themselves on the Committee to pick the drapes. SCOTUS could be called upon to stop the madness after 3 Nov. You want to trust this to Roberts? Go Amy!

My fear is that this could get Dems/ Independents who were going to stay home vs. voting will now vote for Biden due to wanting a non conservative Judge on SC.

That’s incorrect. Due to a strange flaw in Arizona law an appointed senator instead of elected can be replaced by a duly elected senator as early as November 30. I suppose the theory is get the elected person in ASAP

An interesting time

Cruz has stated he doesn’t want to be SC Judge he wants to stay in Senate.

I worry that Dem Senators will say they can’t meet for hearings due to election schedules, etc. They will stall. Unless McConnell recesses Senate and Trump appoints SC Judge that way.
