When Trump is able to turn out huge enthusiastic crouds even with this coronavirus nonsense still puting a damper on things... and Biden is lucky to get a couple dozen people to show when he leaves his basement, tha syas more about the enthusiasm level than these polls do.

Good point. This election will once and for all decide the importance of "enthusiastic crowds" in big rallies vs polls. The divide in that respect between Biden and Trump could not be starker. If Biden still wins despite this, we should all agree that big crowds are not the ultimate indicator like some here believe them to be.

I have to say I'm a little surprised with this final result given that the R/D split is pretty much even. One aspect of the internal numbers makes me a little skeptical of the final number. According to this poll, Trump only has 75% support among Republicans. That is considerably lower than it has been tracking for Trump's entire presidency. That leads me to believe that a significant number of those presenting themselves as R's were not really R's — or were Romney, Kasich, and McCain R's.

As others have written, it's not the nation-wide polls, but the individual states won that matter. Also, as others have pointed out, there is a significant silent Trump support that absolutely can't wait to cast their vote for him. But, there is also no doubt that the fraud factor is going to be huge for the Dems. Let's hope R enthusiasm in the right states can overcome fraudulent thumb on the scale for the D's.
