A Daily Mail poll showed more than four in ten support a U-turn on the policy, letting grandparents see their families over the festive season. Tory backbenchers savaged the ‘grotesque’ restriction which, from Monday, bans groups of seven or more in a bid to halt a second wave of coronavirus.
In Scotland and Wales such gatherings are also outlawed – but children under 12 are exempt. Graham Brady, chairman of the 1922 committee of Tory backbenchers, called on Mr Johnson to follow suit...
Downing Street is refusing to back down, even though young children are much less likely to catch or spread Covid-19. Officials said an age threshold would make enforcement too difficult for police officers...

Sky UK (owned by Comcast/NBC Universal) had discussion about the above poll today. had a conservative journalist on who said it must be an outlier, because Brits love draconian (his word) measures being put in place.
Sky also began their news broadcast with 5 minutes about Birmingham covid hysteria. checked online and Birmingham had had 2 deaths, their first in seven days!

A major error has been discovered in the COVID-19 modelling used by the Federal Government to send Australia into a tough lockdown.

Modelling released by Melbourne’s Peter Doherty Institute earlier this year showed grim predictions of the impact the coronavirus pandemic would have on Australia if no measures were taken to suppress it.
But The Daily Telegraph has revealed an error in the modelling meant the number of people that would need ICU beds was dramatically over-estimated, making the potential impacts of the pandemic appear much worse…
***Director of Doherty Epidemiology, Professor Jodie McVernon, confirmed an error in the graphical representations of the modelling was noticed in June…
“A more detailed description of the modelling with the corrected graphical representations was submitted for peer review to the Emerging Infectious Diseases journal and was accepted for publication on the August 30, 2020.”…
