19 years already. Seems like yesterday.
I was sitting at my desk going thru some emails. A co-worker arrived. As she was getting settled her phone rang. It was a third co-worker calling to say that he was not coming in yet, that a plane had hit the World Trade Center and he wanted to watch for awhile and see what happened.
So the two of us went into the employee lounge and turned on the television just in time to see plane #2 hitting. I still remember the idiot NBC presstitute speculating that it was an air traffic control problem.
“Uh, no, that is some sort of a terrorist attack” was what ran through my mind.
I was working in the office bldg at the John Deere tractor mfg plant. We were all glued to the tv in the hallway outside the lunch area. Ir was unreal.

And it was a FReeper (can’t recall who) who posted exactly what it was and who did it — before the news, the government, or anyone else did.
