The sad part is that she undoubtedly thinks she is absolutely, stunningly beautiful.
Unbridled and unwarranted self-esteem is part of the problem in the US. Social media and poor parenting have instilled in a couple of generation of young people that they are 'special" and what they think matters. When the reality of adulthood and the universe crashes in to them, they completely lose it and go on rampages trying to prove to themselves their worth. An inner voice screeching, "I'm a good person and I matter!", lies behind a vast majority of what is tearing the country a part.
