Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden received five student draft deferments during the Vietnam War...
Officials with Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama's campaign released Biden's Selective Service records at the request of the Associated Press. Less detailed records were available from a National Archives facility in Philadelphia.
According to the documents, Biden, 65, received several deferments while he was an undergraduate at the University of Delaware and later as a law student at Syracuse University. A month after undergoing a physical exam in 1968, Biden received a Selective Service classification of 1-Y, meaning he was available for service only in the event of national emergency.
"As a result of a physical exam on April 5, 1968, Joe Biden was classified 1-Y and disqualified from service because of asthma as a teenager," said David Wade, a campaign spokesman.
In "Promises to Keep," a memoir that was published last year and became an instant bestseller after he was tapped as Obama's running mate, Biden never mentions his asthma, recounting an active childhood, work as a lifeguard and football exploits in high school.
According to records the Associated Press obtained from the National Archives, Biden registered Feb. 15, 1961, with the Selective Service, when he was an 18-year-old student at Archmere Academy in Wilmington, Del. The archives' documents do not include any information about his classification or physical exam.
Biden received a classification questionnaire in October 1963, when he was enrolled at the University of Delaware, and received his first 2-S student deferment a month later. Additional deferments were granted in roughly 12-month intervals, the last coming in January 1968.

He sure is pretty quick to send others to war...
From 2008 so fe is 77 now not 65.
Deferments, and then taking your chance after college is OK. But deferments for grad schoolother than medical/dental schoolwere always a mystery to me.
“I can tell the difference between a wig and natural hair without seeing or touching it. Wanna know how I knows?”
“*Sigh* You just told me, Joe.”
From 2008 so fe is 77 now not 65.
Whether it be 2008, 1968 or 2020 Biden is still a Draft Dodger.
Hit him hard on this one.
I don’t sweat those deferments, either DJT’s or Biden’s. I had student deferments, then got drafted, and went.
RVN turned out to be an incredible and exhilarating experience in hindsight. I also got to Chicago for the MLK riots (1st Armored Division).
Turned out VietNam was a nightmare that shouldn’t have been. I don’t criticize anybody’s personal decisions on that, but I would happily dispatch Hanoi Jane or Kerry for their treasonous actions.
As Senator, he voted to cut off funding to Southeast Asia, which led to the Killing Fields, murdering millions.

So?
Still a draft-dodger.
lol
No surprise there. Memoirs that nobody reads are a classic Democrat Party money laundering technique.
I guess this is why Hiden was pretending to be short of breath today during his Punxsutawney Joe appearance today. The enemy media and Hiden's handlers must have concocted this meme to have him pretend to be short of breath - after 60 years - so he can play the phoney "Trump didn't serve but I would have if I didn't have asthma" Schiff.

So Biden lied about having asthma to get out of the draft.
That's verrrry interesting.
I graduated from high school, and received my first 2-S deferment for college in October of 1964. At the time, the Selective Service rule was that student deferments were only given for four years of college.
In fact, I graduated with a Bachelors degree in engineering in 1968, four years later, but was given a full ride scholarship to MIT for a Masters degree by the company that I worked for a co-op employee. I enrolled at MIT, leased an apartment in Boston, and was scheduled to start classes there on a the Monday morning after Labor Day.
On the Thursday before starting day, I received a draft notice, along with a statement that my student deferment for this was denied. I immediately called my local draft board who told me "Don't bother to start classes. You will be removed from school and in the military before the end of the semester. We only give student deferments for four years."
So how did Biden get 2-S deferments for at least 6 years?
It’s from 2008, but its relevant today with the wrap-up smear the media did to Trump.
