Trump had clearly remarked on McCain not failing to win in 2008 when he ran for POTUS. Obama won. McCain did not. McCain also lost to W for the nomination in 2000. He also commented on Romney's loss.
I totally understand the animosity Trump had for McCain because of the spiteful Obamacare vote, being a tool of the Spygate cabal passing along the Steele Dossier. I'm always thankful to Obama for keeping McCain from the oval office. In 2012, I was disappointed Romney lost. I thought it was a missed opportunity but given how he's conducted himself I'm thankful he didn't win.
