White House coronavirus advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci said Wednesday that the number of daily coronavirus cases in the United States is unacceptably high heading into the fall season.
The U.S. is seeing roughly 40,000 new cases a day, but it needs to bring infections below 10,000, Fauci said during an interview with MSNBC.
Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said the publics behavior over the Labor Day holiday weekend will determine how the coronavirus spreads in the U.S. through the colder months.

“he sits in front of Laura Ingraham and nearly sulks about how ‘I inherited him.’”
Trump may have inherited Fauci in his decades-long position at NIH. But he did NOT “inherit” him on the Task Force, as it didn’t exist before Covid. That’s on (1) Pence for selecting him without proper vetting, and (2) Trump for not kicking him to the curb after the first Task Force press conference. Those two created a monster, responsible for the deaths of thousands.
“How many are hospitalized or have died of this group.”
That is the only statistic that matters.......
Seriously, I found the part of the Ingraham interview that dealt with Fauci quite disturbing.
I inherited him. I don’t always agree with him. But I like him.
And for THAT reason you allow him to go on being the self-appointed Medical Dictator of America?
Trump’s strange attachment to Fauci and Birx is one of the few things about him that makes my head want to explode.
“Trumps strange attachment to Fauci and Birx is one of the few things about him that makes my head want to explode.”
Exactly. It’s like they have something on Trump to keep him in line. Fauci stole Trump’s mojo, and it’s curious as to why and how that happened.
For sure.
It’s over in Arizona.
Fauci's implying that COVID-19 is seasonal. Where's his scientific evidence to back up that claim.
We've actually had the most cases in the Summer.
Fauci's pronouncements are nothing more than made up fortune cookie platitudes.
I can only speculate that Trump thinks firing Grandpa Fauci before
the election will hurt Trump.
However, when Trump wins re-election, Grandpa Fauci will be one of
the first to be fired.
And we know that the unscientific Fauci doesn't dare mention the politically incorrect idea of herd immunity.
You put your finger on the pulse of the Left.
***Well never get this thing under control***
Until we get herd immunity, either naturally acquired or otherwise.
Who?
This guy has all the relevance of a dildo.
But is not as useful.
Yes. Many researchers believe the realistic herd immunity threshold is more likely 10 - 20% (one high estimate is 43%, based on modeling) (New York Times Aug. 17). Few if any credible researchers believe your 70 - 90% range. Also, your fatality rate is way too high unless you propose that we continue slaughtering nursing home residents and prevent the use of safe, early stage therapeutics. Even scaremonger Fauci estimates the that infection fatality rate is in the range of 0.6%, with other credible researchers estimating the IFR as being between 0.1% to 0.2%(Web MD September 1). I would love to know where you pulled your numbers.
Some are saying herd immunity can be achieved at 20%—I’ve never seen it (guessed at) as high at 90%. I have seen 70% often.
Cases plus vaccines will get to herd immunity too—across the planet.
