A couple of times I have bumped into famous people in passing. Did I ask them for their autograph? Gush and tell them I loved their work? No, I essentially ignored them and treated them as I would any other person I don’t know. I figured they get hounded enough as it is and don’t need it from me.

Same. Further, most of my "heroes" have been dead for hundreds of years. Decades at the least...

If I see one of them walking around... I'll let EVERYONE know.

Yup. Doris Day ruined any chance I would ever put any of them on some sort of pedestal when I was a little kid(early 1950’s). Never give celebrities a thought about their ‘status’. Passed Dog the Bounty Hunter in Vegas one time. Just a simple nod and “mahalo”.

Exactly.

One of my favorite TV shows ever was and still is Barney Miller.

Once at a restaurant in NYC, Hal Linden and his family were at the next table.

“Hey, cool, Hal Linden is next to us” I said quietly to the rest of the table.

That was the end of it.
