The city looked like Dresden afterwards.

I agree. The writer is incorrect, or simply looking for clicks. The early 70’s make today seem tame. Today everything is simply on tv that presents stuff out of proportions. Basically, we have a Chicago Bulls championship victory celebrations across the US.

I remember watching the ‘60’s riots on TV.
It was one of the key items which convinced me to be a Conservative once school indoctrination wore off.

You’ve got to be near 60 years old to have any memory of the ‘60s riots. Few voters have that frame of reference. Especially so in the social media age where every act of agitprop violence is magnified immediately.
