Sightline Media used to be part of Gannett Government Media, who had swallowed up the former Army Times Publishing Company in 1997 and subverted it utterly. They were spun off to Tegna in 2015, who sold it to LA-based private equity firm Regent who renamed it Sightline.
The owner of Regent, one Michael Reinstein, contributed to Marco Rubio’s 2016 presidential campaign. Haven’t found any other info on who he donates to.
