Pointing his gun at Kyle Rittenhouse, and Gaige telling his friend he wished he had shot him seems like probable cause for an attempted murder charge against Gaige.

While we have Gaige's friends written comments on this issue, I don't think it comes into a court case. It is nothing but hearsay. If anyone believes Gaige will admit to ever saying that he is dreaming. Gaige will get legal advice and will claim he never said it.

Running Rittenhouse down with his gun drawn should be enough to make the case.

But that assumes anyone will charge Gaige with anything.

Yes, but probable cause affidavits rely on hearsay all the time. More evidence is needed, and it exists in the form of the videos that document Gaige's actions.

If the DA doesn't bother to prosecute Gaige for his actions, or at least his possession of a pistol if the reports of his prior felony conviction are true, then we'll know where DA Mike Graveley is coming from.

They can call the friend in as a witness, and ask if he actually said that.

There are many cases where witnesses testify about what they heard defendants say.

It is germane in this case.
