Who responds to polls?
Polls are crap. The only one that matters will be on November 3rd.

Look I challenge anyone anywhere find me a single poll that has published their internals and asked the participants who they voted for last time and who they intend to vote for this time that shows any, any net movement away from Trump EVER during this cycle.. show me 1, just one.
They can’t because they don’t exist. You can play weighting and sanpling all you like to get the desired overall support/poll numbers but you can’t play games with those 2 questions... and every poll published that has asked those two questions shows an absolute net gain for Trump .. every single one.
Trump in every poll asking those questions shows the overwhelming majority of voters polled who voted for Trump last time intend to do so against his time... and that any loss (and there isn’t much) among that group are vastly out numbered by folks who voted Hillary last time but intend to vote Trump this time.
Trump is not behind, and never has been.
This reminds me of the wooden cannon the Confederates used to fool Union soldiers. They had an incredible advantage in cannons over the Union wherever that was. Ha hahahahaaaaaa....
National polls are worthless.
State polls, if done correctly, are much more important.
The battleground polls show a real tightening.

I am not hearing of any IBD/TIPP polls this election season. Have they been silenced ?
I am extremely suspicious of a poll without the methods and retrieved data sets.
They do not say how many or more importantly, percentages of democrats, Republicans and Independents they used. That has a HUGE impact on any poll, and hiding this information leads me to believe that had more democrats than the voting percentages dictate.
How do they do this?
Well, back in 2016, the last PRESIDENTIAL vote, the actual vote numbers for dems and Reps was even.
Actually, I found this from the 2016 election:
The most recent Gallup data shows that 42 percent of people identify as independents, and more identify as Republican than Democrat, 30 percent to 27 percent.
So, what if the Morning Consult poll had 38 % democrats, 30 % Republicans, and the rest independent?
You'd then get Joe Biden slightly ahead.
How they get away with it:
There was another national election in 2018. Trump wasn't on the ballot, and fewer Republicans voted. Morning Consult could use THOSE numbers to get the results they wanted, and innocently say their percentages were from the actual voting statistics.
Pretty clever, but terribly misleading and inaccurate.
Morning Consult, release your numbers, including percentage of party! That or you're all frauds!!!
They could be looking at some primary numbers. We had a primary vote last week in CT. Kind of useless at this point. My town is basically equal number of registered Dems/Repubs, with 30% Independents. About 5% turnout. Biden got about 740 votes to 430 votes for Trump. Who can figure.
