During another part of the podcast, Obama recounted how she, daughters Sasha and Malia, and friend Denielle Pemberton-Heard went for ice cream. “We had just finished taking the girls to a soccer game. We were stopping to get ice cream and I had told the Secret Service to stand back, because we were trying to be normal, trying to go in,” Obama recalled. “There was a line, and… when I’m just a black woman, I notice that white people don’t even see me. They’re not even looking at me.”

Michelle Obama was waiting her turn when a white woman jumped the line and got in front of her. It’s happened to all of us... not because of skin color, but because some people are rude.
I don’t believe that’s the issue.
The larger issue is she feels white people don’t see HER - they see her skin color. Some of that is true, but for the most part white people are more reserved than black people. I don’t want the act of standing in line signalling others that I want to talk or share stories about my day.
With black people that natural reserve is even greater because our perception of black people is they’re angry and thin-skinned. So the thought of a casual interaction is uncomfortable. Michelle Obama is one of the most admired people in the country... she needs to make an effort to check her insecurity and relax...
She thinks that how people treat her is based on her skin color.

Of course we don’t “ notice” another black family. We’re all out getting ice cream. Blacks and whites in our neighborhood go get ice cream together all of the time. Why should we notice just them. She’s an elitest, racist.
Obama built those border cages for Michelle so she could have her own zoo.
