During another part of the podcast, Obama recounted how she, daughters Sasha and Malia, and friend Denielle Pemberton-Heard went for ice cream. “We had just finished taking the girls to a soccer game. We were stopping to get ice cream and I had told the Secret Service to stand back, because we were trying to be normal, trying to go in,” Obama recalled. “There was a line, and… when I’m just a black woman, I notice that white people don’t even see me. They’re not even looking at me.”

Michelle had a track record of corruption before Obozo was elected and everybody knew about it. She brought this on herself long before.
It is very stressful to go through life always alert to how everyone might be reacting to you. (I know this because “teenage girls.”) Therapists actually treat teenaged girls for this anxiety-inducing false belief, reminding them that nearly everyone around them is involved with their own business and not giving the young drama queen a single thought unless she barrels smack into them.

She added: “She didn’t apologize, she never looked me in my eye, she didn’t know it was me. All she saw was a black person, or a group of black people, or maybe she didn’t even see that. Because we were that invisible.”
That being said, it’s very possible that the woman thought they had already ordered & were waiting for their ice cream. Or that the woman is an a-hole entitled jerk to everyone, black or white. Everyone-black, white, brown, yellow or orange-have been slighted throughout their lives. You don’t let it define your life. If it does, you need therapy.

Maybe it's just that all these "white people" don't suck up to her because they don't intend to use her for their own benefit. They're not racists, they're just not the typical manipulators she's spent her whole life around.

There have been several times that while running the course of normal activities I’ve seen some celebrities, I didn’t bother them, because I assumed when they are out living their lives, they don’t want to be bothered, just as I wouldn’t want to be bothered.

Michelle was undeservedly blasted on the cover of every single fashion magazine wearing absolutely horrible outfits. She was in our faces for 8 years.

Meanwhile, our new First Lady is literally a style icon and crickets from the fashion world.
And of course, if someone had spoken to her or been solicitous in some sort of way she/he would complain about not being left alone to just get ice cream...
