I was a huge fan for his first term, when he was brash and bold.
His war with Iraq...fumbled by bad political strategy of how to deal with the senior members of Saddam's military and govt. locking them out of the “ new Iraq” was a historically stupid blunder. Then after 2004/5 Bush increasingly folded like a cheap suit and let Pelosi ride him like a well-broke pony, humiliating and insulting him with no response. Could never respect that.

Now the Trump has revealed the character of the Bushes....never again,

As Trump says, Bush’s war on Iraq wasn’t bad because the execution or strategy was wrong, it was a stupid idea to begin with. Iraq had no WMDs, had nothing to do with 911, and posed no threat to the US that couldn’t be contained by deterrence just as we contained the Soviet Union without invading. Moreover, as Trump points out, Iraq under Saddam was a counterweight to Iran, whereas toppling him destabilized the whole mideast. Moreover, Saddam kept the jihadis under his boot through a brutal rule over them. When we removed him the jihadis went wild, killing Christians (who had been safe under Saddam) and launching a civil war that killed half a million Iraqis and drove the entire middle class and professional class out of the country. Terrorists flooded into the lawless country from other places, so it became a “ Harvard for Terrorism, “ as Trump puts it. ALL THIS HAPPENED WITHIN MONTHS OF OUR INVASION - it wasn’t a mess that only happened later, in Bush’s second term, or when Obama came in And Bush presided over the writing of a constitution that officially enshrined sharia law as the ultimate authority. Under Saddams secular rule, women were “cover”less. After our invasion, the burka reappeared

Trump calls George Bush’s invasion of Iraq one of the stupidest, most destructive decisions in US foreign policy history And he’s so right

It was so chaotic that Bush “the liberator” was never able to travel there except on “surprise” visits to keep the terrorists he unleashed off guard. And, as Trump points out, that’s still the case today - when Trump went there, the airport lights had to be turned off to deny the terrorists the ability to see - and shoot at - his plane. The mess Bush created may continue for generations to come
