Yet I’m called “as stupid as they come” by someone for simply stating the facts. McConnell cannot recess the Senate. He has no such power. Just a fact. McConnell forced Reid to keep the Senate in session when Reid was Majority Leader as well. How did he do that? Because Reid as the Majority Leader had no power to recess the Senate unilaterally...just as McConnell doesn’t now.
It’s ridiculous. And it’s as though this individual didn’t recall that major blow up during Obama’s administration that ended up before the SCOTUS over the issue. I know the basic facts, he didn’t, yet I’m the one that’s dumb.
