The CEO of Chinese video app TikTok has resigned after just months on the job following a recent threat by President Trump to ban the app in the U.S.
Kevin Mayer informed employees of his decision Thursday, Fox Business has confirmed. His departure plans come amid trade posturing between the U.S. and China.
Trump recently accused the app of being a potential threat to U.S. national security, saying his administration had “credible evidence,” The Financial Times reported. The president threatened a ban on TikTok unless its operator, ByteDance, sold its assets to a U.S.-based company within 90 days.

Once the sale was done....there was no need for this guy. He figured that out finally.
Why would that make him resign? I think there’s another reason?
Mayer was an ex-Disney guy directly under Iger and helped setup Disney+. Iger’s been running the social justice narrative at Disney (including ESPN which kowtows to China along with the NBA that Iger has helped bankroll)
Iger stepped down as CEO just as the pandemic was starting (at a time when they were going to need strong leadership) and just as Disney+ was taking off this guy jumped ship to go to TikTok because TikTok had a great future as a streaming platform but... now because it’s going to be sold to an American company he wants no part of it?

His Chinese masters are unhappy with him.
