“...Intentionally killing the NBA now is going to resonate in a lot of corporate boardrooms. Social justice or not, the NBA may never recover from this.”
I'm old enough to remember when CBS tape-delayed the Finals until after the 10:00pm news because of ratings - imagine what happens after this.

Haven’t the Clippers sat out just about every NBA season since moving from Buffalo to California?

LeBron has so much money, he could pay every Black adult in the U.S. $1000 each to better their lives but does he offer to do this? Of course not because he doesnt think *he* should make that sacrifice.
I cant stand LeBron. But he funded the remodeling of a huge bank here on Market Street in Akron and turned it into a very impressive looking I Promise Academy that serves inner city youths with behavioral problems. All kids meeting criteria get a full scholarship to U of Akron. The LeBron James Family Foundation also helped establish an urban STEM program at Zook Hall at U of Akron and is now called The LeBron James Family Foundation College of Education.
That said, good riddance to him and I hope he never plays another game.

They will for a while but eventually the money will run out. If it doesn’t go in, it doesn’t go out.

I CARE, I CARE; now I won’t get to watch them kick any more baskets or throw any more home runs!
And I will really miss seeing them dribble for a touch down!

“Who cares!”
They treat the cardboard fans like they are disposable.
This feels kinda like being rudely dumped this morning by that flea-bitten hooker I apparently married in Vegas last night.
Thank you Saint JakeBlake!

I think that the players just killed the goose that laid the golden eggs. The NBA owners want to make money and gain attention along with being local heroes.
With no games there will be much lower future TV revenues. The networks may get burned this year, but that will not last for long. Without games there will be no stadium or arena ticket sales. Much less licensed team merchandising revenue. And for the players much less sports product endorsement revenues.
Right now a first year rookie makes a minimum salary of over $800,000 per year. That will probably not last for much longer.
Also since college BB is being postponed by major universities, and will probably overlap with football, the college feeder teams to the NBA will have financial problems as well.
I expect the entire professional basketball thing to plummet within the USA. However, the NBA has been courting China and other overseas countries, so I would expect to see many of the teams sold to new owners in other Countries.
Couldn't happen to a better group of pampered over-paid athletes.
