Everyone seems to be making a big deal out of the age of this kid. Doesn’t seem to be unusual to me. It brings to mind my favorite uncle. He was 17 when he landed on the beach at Iwo Jima. Just a different war being fought here

Good point. My uncle was 17 while fighting in the Korean War.
That 17 year old was a lot calmer then a lot of men twice his age would have been under the circumstances. He took out two threats in what less then 30 seconds. The guy who claims he was backing off still had the gun in his hand, his daddy should have taught him that constitutes a threat. Kid was calm even tried to surrender to Police.

My Father was 16 when he enlisted (lied about his age and his father colluded), was a grand 18 years old at the Battle of the Bulge.
Wound up going all the way to Linz, Austria with Pattons 3rd Army.
That’s way back in the day when we all expected to be MEN by the age of 16.
