An Italian observational study contributes to the ongoing debate regarding the use of hydroxychloroquine in the current pandemic. The research, conducted on 3,451 patients treated in 33 hospitals throughout the Italian territory (list of participating centers attached), shows that the use of this drug reduces by 30% the risk of death in hospitalized patients affected by Covid-19.

That’s 30% among those hospitalized. If you treated them as soon as they were symptomatic, the number would be much higher.
Not exactly news to anyone who has been paying attention...Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
The false positive rate was 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's or one old farts life, it's worth it.
Already hospitalized and where’s the zinc?
Dr Stella Emmanuel (Houston) has a 100% cure rate and she sees all ages all comorbidities. Uses it EARLY in the process and before hospitalization. She was ridiculed for her use of HCQ.
Thanks for posting.
Since we are in the midst of Presidential Campaigning it will become more difficult to find new commentaries about the effectiveness of HCQ.
Yeah, but that’s all anecdotal and it hasnt gone through a 4 year triple blind secret squirrel handshake study.
And science tells us that we cannot use any therapeutics unless it 100% kills the covid virus.
Thats 30% among those hospitalized. If you treated them as soon as they were symptomatic, the number would be much higher.
This. The HCQ regime is most effective when administered early and prior to hospitalization.
I haven't seen that data anywhere. Think of the avoided and unnecessary medical / hospitalization costs and avoided productivity losses as well as the avoidance of catching a worse disease in the hospital and the avoided worry/anguish of being hospitalized.
Well, if I was facing death, Ill choose the right to try at those odds.
Pity some state governor or hospital administrator or pharmacist now is taking over the power to say NO
Yeah Anecdotal says dr falsie....
Earlier and wider use might well reduce the spread - and save the lives of the vulnerable, who would otherwise have been infected.
Simple solution to the pandemic,,,,Make HCQ and Azithromycin OTC drugs so anyone who develops a cough and/or fever can go the nearest drug store and self medicate with the drugs along with Zinc Sulfate with correct dosage within 48 hours of symptoms and pandemic over.,,,,,instead of waiting a few days to get tested and 5 days for the results,,,,if over 60 years of age,,,,youre dead.
bkmk
see the post above abotu the Dr Stella in Houston- she has 100% success rate- not sure if she has stats or not- hopefully she does- Zelenko also had a very large study where he had I think near 100% success-
in the meantime, in states where you can’t get HCQ, as a last resrot, there are supposed alternatives to take as a preventative- Hesperidin, and quercitin- HCQ would be preferable i suppose, but there are claims that Hesperidin is 3 times more powerful than HCQ against flu- not sure about covid- just be sure to research them and any possible side effects-
I’m curious.
Is there any benefit to taking the HCL/Az/Zinc cocktail as a prophylactic? Why wait for symptoms?
I am taking 500 mg Quercetin and 50 mg Zinc once a day with my meals. I feel fine, even a little better. In my research, I learned that there are no long-term side effects for this regimen, or at least none that I cannot live with. And it appears that the Quercetin is a less potent but still effective substitute for HCL.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
Ping for Hydroxychloroquine
Ive heard of HCQ + Zn as prophylactic, not with ZPack.
Id avoid the ZPack anyway if not sick, because antibiotics can do a number on you.
