Officials say a firefighter battling the CZU Lightning Complex fire near Santa Cruz was targeted by opportunistic thieves over the weekend.

Cal Fire officials say a ground commander returned to his work truck, parked in the evacuation zone, to find it had been broken into. His wallet was stolen and officials say the man then discovered his bank account had been drained.

“Maybe, if the vehicle had been locked, an alarm would’ve gone off.”

Not necessarily, there are devices you can buy online that can mimic the key fob to unlock a vehicle.

...California has bent over backwards to help criminals and punish its citizens...

And Democrats want the whole USA to be California

What makes anybody think some of these wild fires aren’t arson. Chaos is chaos, drains local resources and makes everybody nervous. Sounds like that’s part of the left’s overall plan.

Looting has traditionally been a “shoot-on-sight” crime.

Summary justice.

I am not blaming you personally. I blame the State. I voted Republican, too. And my District had an R Representative until the ballot harvesting ‘win’ for Katie Hill. The Pols elected by the ‘masses’ in California are to blame.

I didn’t see it in this article but read it on another article. (Sorry, no link) That’s why the “broken into” jumped out at me.

Locked, unlocked...wouldn’t have made a difference to the scum thieves.

I guess it’s just preordained that CA goes the way God intends for it to go. Perhaps a huge earthquake that only affects Sacramento and San Francisco?

Well, of course, those running the state are responsible but you weren’t separating “citizens” from the damage that’s been done by making your original statement of “they asked for it”. You can always figure there are people with common sense in ANY state and THEY ARE NOT THE ONES RESPONSIBLE for the fate that befalls any state and its citizens.

We moved from OC and what a shock to learn that the county went for Hillary in 2016. We didn’t know ANYONE who would have voted for her and that was due to ballot harvesting also, I understand. Some blamed it on students at UCI and their families. Wasn’t it only one Republican who kept their seat in that election?

We had Rohrabacher as our congressman and he lost his reelection and it was Chris Cox before that. Rohrabacher was a doer and a fighter.

Garcia looks like a great candidate so hope he wins. BUT - Palmdale and Lancaster used to be welfare havens and I don’t imagine it’s changed for the good since we left the state. Those voters if they turn out are going to go for the “freebies” promised thus keeping the trend going!

You are of course correct
it just struck me as odd he would have left his truck unlocked with his wallet in it
Not sure I believe that
But you are right, the scum would have gotten in anyway they could

Those voters don’t even have to turn out......their vote will be cast for them by the multitude of Activists ‘volunteers’. AND YES, I recognize that the Conservative voters are overwhelmed by the radicals and the cheating. I blamed the STATE. Those in charge did ask for it.....and are continually asking for more Socialist laws. And the ‘94 earthquake did boatloads of damage in my District, so I would never ask for an earthquake to ‘right the wrongs’ in California. I don’t know the answer, as California is now overwhelmed by non-citizens voting and activists counting the ballots.

“”I blamed the STATE. Those in charge did ask for it....””

True but they like what they’ve done so they’re not complaining...it fits their plan.
