An extraordinarily high number of ballots more than 550,000 have been rejected in this year's presidential primaries, according to a new analysis by NPR.
That's far more than the 318,728 ballots rejected in the 2016 general election and has raised alarms about what might happen in November when tens of millions of more voters are expected to cast their ballots by mail, many for the first time.

Bad news, is election day and days after may be very messy as DEMs go to court to have ballots counted that were rejected. Remember 2000...
From Florida and NC data, DEMs are requesting Vote-by-Mail in large numbers compared to REPs and compared to 2016. The next couple of months will bring much media attention to large VBM numbers from DEMs. Keep that in perspective though. The DEMs aren't enthusiastic for Biden, they fear the pandemic more and want to vote by mail. REPs win on election day.

THIS must be given front page attention, and we ALL need to come to some agreement. If I were a 14 yr. old boy, I would follow the mailman down the street, and when ballots were put in a mailbox, I would laugh with glee and we would do a YOUTUBE video of us placing X in the box, and then running our ballots to be counted. What if Alex Jones were a mailman, or Candace Owens, what if Kamala Harris nephew was Postmaster in Weed, California. ARE we sure we can TRUST the Post office. My wife INSISTS that the ballots are marked with an R or a D, indicating if the ballot was from a Democrat or Republican. Wonder if this is true....
In many cases in primaries there’s a legitimate reason for marking the ballots with an R or a D. Here in TN., for example, the primary ballots need to be so marked to allow the proper party ballot to be sent to each absentee voter. Indeed, it reflects how the in person primaries are run with each voter requesting either an R or D ballot.
“My wife INSISTS that the ballots are marked with an R or a D, indicating if the ballot was from a Democrat or Republican.”
The Democrats probably got that added so they knew which ones to toss.
My party registration is public information.
Also, if my mailman has three Republican flyers for me and my ballot was in the box, he can guess I’ve voted for Trump.
Uh, yes. It's true. These were ballots for primary elections. I'm guessing the ballots in question were in states with closed primaries and people were sent ballots based on their voter registration.
In the general election there will be no such thing as a Republican or Democrat ballot.
It's a primary election. Why would the Democrats care?
There’s no question. When I saw the cut-out on back of the envelope which revealed the party, I couldn’t believe it.
WTH?
It's a primary election. Why would the Democrats care?
What if it has been happening for decades?, and the DNC-post office operatives have been chucking out ballots from known conservative districts, and keeping the ones from liberal ones. That would explain how we got stuck with two George Bushes, a Dole, Romney and McCain the last few decades.
Giving credit to Eric Von Hesler, a talk show guy in Atlanta for these scenarios:
Dad is a huge Trump supporter. Daughter are not. Dad says “my house, my way or the highway!’, snatches her ballot and mails it in.
Or, son is a Biden supporter. Gets home first, grabs all the ballots from the mailbox and sends them back. Nobody knows nothing, except that the ballots never showed up. If they go to the polls, sorry, you’ve already voted.
Not only does this ruin the ‘secret ballot’ concept, but it opens the door to all kinds of problems.
The postal service has been around since 1775, with Ben Franklin as the first Postmaster General. 245 years and these morons STILL cannot figure out how to staff to shorten the lines to less than 30 minutes.
I DON’T TRUST THEM.
A bunch of dishonest, lazy, incompetent government union workers. I’d like to go one week without my mail ending up at the neighbors house. The neighbor and I trade our screwed up mail weekly.
...
Two ways to look at this:
Gee, this is horrible.
or,
Gee, they are sure catching a lot of this.
For sure
I look at it the third way: "Gee, this is horrible. Thank goodness they are catching a lot of this."
Yeah, that’s a good one.
Starting to wonder, though-—just spitballin:
Trump is really hammering this. DemoKKKrats have really come out supporting VBM. This is almost too convenient. Almost like Trump KNOWS he will benefit from VBM. I normally would have a hard time believing that-—DemoKKKrats are the fraidy-cats who don’t want to go out in public-—but so far the limited examples we’ve had show that a) Rs won WI07 and one TX seat largely due to VBM; 2) Dem ballots are being kicked out at a 2:1 rate over Rs.
Is it possible Trump is sandbagging the left here by forcing them to totally defend VBM, so that when he wins, it knocks the legs right out of their prepared opposition?
Possibly. Trump is one of the craftiest fellers I've seen in a while. You'd have to be, to survive in NYC Real Estate.
In my state, the outside of the ballot request isn’t marked but the inside is. I don’t see any need to mark them at all not everyone votes a strait ticket. Each person will receive the same ballot. The ballot itself on the inside can state which party the voter is registered with but it doesn’t need to state it on the outside. Once the ballot is counted, then the ballot can be disposed with whomever it goes to but if noth parties count ballots together, and each counter keeps tabs on his/her count, it should be relatively easy to spot discrepencies.
Machine ballot readers can also be programmed to skew counts. I think the thumbprint system is best. Also, each voter should be able to inquire as to whether or not hiis/her vote was recorded and counted. Use a thumbprint reader to verify.
Big difference between “absentee” ballots and the mail-out, mail-in ballots. The headline says “absentee”, but those have to be requested and verified.
Florida has a history of not counting absentee ballots from our military personnel stationed out of country. That was one of the major problems in the 2000 election.
