The judges silly rant at this sentencing hearing reinforces my view that no real crimes were committed.
This notion that the nation's higher education system was somehow victimized is ludicrous to point of being comical. If I ever hired employees the way these schools admit students, I would have been sued out of existence years ago.

Their crimes were that they gave money to a fake charity which allowed that guy to avoid taxes. And they used interstate wire services to do so.
Some of the people indicted also claimed the "contribution" on their taxes.
Simply giving money to a coach isn't a crime. Otherwise the coaches would have been indicted.
