I have been happy in my new home. And I wrote, before converting, a 200 page masters thesis on one uprising that took place under Henry the eighth, and that pretty much solidified my disgust with Anglicanism. I am an Anglophile, to be sure, and sometimes I miss the beauty of the Anglican service, but I chose substance over symbolism. And, lo and behold, I then learned that a lot more Catholics go to church on Sundays in England than do Anglicans!
I'm with you. I attended evensong several times at Westminster Abbey over the years. Truly beautiful. Sad. But I can't continue sending funds to a church I now believe is a political organization. I also witnessed extreme hatred to whites and men in particular in a service at the National Cathedral. I stop going to church for months after that experience.
My local church is a good one. The priest was balanced but sadly has turned left, probably to placate the activists in the congregation. Plenty of conservatives still there, but pulling away one by one.
