Ah but remember what that reprehensible revolutionary, slave-holding, Declaration-writing, Democrat Party Founder, Thomas Jefferson wrote (1787); "[T]he tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. [I]t is it’s natural manure."

Note that he was Ambassador to France at the time and the US was experiencing "Shay's Rebellion" while the Paris mobs were warming up to their Revolution. Similarities between France & Iran? I can see them!

That was my reference to the lamp posts. one of the mottos of the French Revolution was À la lanterne! - To the lamp post! Their version of String him up!

The author of the article of this thread seemed to have as his main point, to we should be preparing for the aftermath of an Iranian Revolution, to help them avoid the long instability that occurred after the French Revolution.
