Its not just a few Upper West Siders who are fleeing New York: Moving companies say theyre swamped with calls from residents looking to ditch the city even though the COVID crisis has waned.
One likely reason: The virus was but the last straw; New Yorkers are fed up with the shootings and lootings, homelessness on the streets, sub-par online schools, sky-high taxes and the sheer obliviousness of pols like Mayor Bill de Blasio and Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Fauci says NY did things right. By right I guess he means destroying the economy.
The one on the steps has a mask, so he’s OK.
I wish the list had a column indicating whether the Governor is “D” or “R” !
The rural United States is becoming more popular by the day.
Big cities will continue to deteriorate into crime and corruption.
The situation is NOT going to improve.
Much as I hate NY government I am somewhat skeptical of the data. CA has consistently bad ratings due to cost, taxes etc and yet we create most of the high paying quality jobs in the country. NYC finance and law and securities also create high paid jobs.
What this really means is that low paid jobs like restaurants and retail are gone and wont be coming back.
I knew Illinois wasn’t far behind. Chicago’s mayor,Larry Lightweight and our Gov. Jelly Bean are vying for that coveted No. 1 slot...
RE: I wish the list had a column indicating whether the Governor is D or R !
I KNOW that the states ranked 42 to 50 ALL have Democrat governors. I also know that the TOP 4 states all have Republican governors.
Did these rankings include cutting police budgets, prosecutors who won’t prosecute crimes, revolving door courts, Soros and his foundations funding get-out-of-jail cards, riots, closure of public highways, etc?
I’d wager if all these things were factored in, Oregon, Washington, California, Minnesota, Illinois, New York would all fare much worse than the ranking they received. Of course, it is hard for OR, WA and CA to fall much farther.
10 of the top 11 voted for PDJT, the bottom 12 all voted for PIAPS.
“...Fauci says NY did things right. By right I guess he means destroying the economy....”
Fauxi has zero credibility...NONE, nada, zero.
Both, Scarf and Fauxi, should have already been arrested and sent to GITMO as domestic enemy combatants for what they foisted on the economy and America’s People, tried for mass murder and crimes against humanity, then summarily executed.
Especially that little weasel, Fauxi. That little commie, PIAPS-loving SOB is the one that gave millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to that CCP bioweapons lab over there to develop the crap. Hanging that traitorous little turd POS is way too good for the SOB.
The surge in empty apartments was widespread across the borough. Declines in new leases were seen across the board, from the high to low end segments. The report said the Upper East Side was hit the hardest, saw a 39% decline in new leases over the month.
A record number of empty apartments in Manhattan will have ripple effects industrywide and on indirect industries.
Real Estate Company Douglas Elliman warned: "This could be a difficult couple of years for landlords."
With landlord rental streams quickly evaporating, many will have trouble paying their mortgages and could result in a wave of selling over the next couple of years, sending real estate prices citywide into a possible correction.
If one can do the finance, law and securities jobs remotely with computers, why would one want to stay in New York City and endure all the crime, filth and chaos?
PIAPS?
WTF?
I can’t figure out that acronym!

Pig-in-a-Pantsuit. One of many Hillary-handles.
The bad news is that Utah is number one and has become a tech giant. So the crazies leave CA and have spread the seeds of wokeness.
Will have a heavy impact on commercial RE as well.
I’ve not one ounce of pity for New York.
PIAPS = Pig In A Pant Suit
a.k.a.: The Cankle.
The longer people stay in New York the harder it's going to be to get out.
Florida doesn't have an income tax so we're a great destination for conservatives leaving New York. Welcome welcome...
