Portland is a hotbed of radical leftists and safe harbors them. At this point, we need to declare the city as seditionist and send in the national guard to take control, arrest both rioters and local politicians on charges of sedition, and reform their governance. If the state government intervenes, then they need to be arrested on charges of harboring seditionists and likewise put the state under martial law. Of course this would start a second civil war, but at this point I don’t see another more rational option. Whether Trump wins reelection or not, the civil war is coming whether we want it or not. Better to start it on our terms.

My thinking tends to lean in that direction too, but it is essential that Trump win the election and deal with all the Communists/Anarchists from as much a position of strength as possible. I suspect they will badly overplay their hands if Trump wins and will try to start the revolution. It is important that it be shown that the radicals have to be put down. We may all understand that here, but there are millions of good people who need to see their reaction after Trump wins a legitimate election. They must understand why martial law will likely have to be declared and military force used.
