If youve kept half an eye on the who will it be? story that is the Democratic partys vice-presidential nomination, youll have heard commentators suggesting that Biden will pick a do no harm candidate.
In other words, Biden should play it safe: given his lead in the polls, he can only slip up, so boring is better than original; boring is better than exciting; uninspiring beats edgy. Do no harm its become journalistic shorthand for boring.
The trouble is, there is no such thing as a harmless Veep pick. A candidate who has obviously been picked because of his or, in this case, her inability to excite will damage Bidens campaign. She will fall flat.
Just look at what happened four years ago. Hillary Clinton chose Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia precisely because he seemed the least risky choice. Kaine may have been dastardly handsome in his youth and Clintons number crunchers reckoned hed help her win over Scots-Irish Catholic voters in the rust belt because, well, Kaine is a Scots-Irish Catholic. But to say he didnt lift any souls, or set hearts fluttering, would be an understatement.

Come on Man we always knew it would be Pete. Joe is comfortable around clean guys. They obviously have a bromance.
How will the black voter react to butt boi Pete getting picked?
Isnt Liz Warren an elderly Lesbian Latina now?
There is all that. But every now and then she would have to show up in The Senate. And give speeches. And do the diplomatic rounds and occasions when the President is not available. And it's just AF2 ... not Air Force 1.
Biden and Rice are the firewall to indictments. The DOJ wont interview a dem pres or vote candidate much less indict them.
Biden isn’t picking anything, except maybe his nose. The establishment Democrats will tell him who his VP choice will be.

Amy would be a logical choice—except she has the wrong skin color to reverse Jim Crow Joe Biden who swore he would never be seen with a white person as a running mate.
He dug his hole—now he is stuck in it.
Everyone who hates President Trump and lives in America is a thief of the bread they eat, the water they drink. and the air they breathe. If they hate him so, let them move to another Country instead of mooching off the fat of the land he provides. Like a parasite/
Probably Susan Rice, but if Biden really had a brain he wouldn’t have locked himself into a female pic. His best move would have been to pick someone like Colin Powell or another RINO. It would show a fake “unity in times of trouble” as well as pull votes from the dummies.
boring may be safe for VP but not helpful in geting out the vote. I think Biden has boxed himself into picking a black woman, maybe Rice-all her sins will be forgiven by media but doe she help? Boring is safe but doesn’t inspire
In that vein here’s something interesting from the Fischer Investment Newsletter on Presidential Dem candidates , not sure if it applies to VP but-unless the Democrat candidate is already president then they haven’t won once with the candidate expected from 4 years ago-has to be fresh face-they explain it better:
“An amazing trivia secret: Democrats havent won the presidency once since the Civil War with any candidate thought likely to be the next nominee four years earlier, unless already the President somehow. Never, ever! Biden is archetypal of what they always lost withan old warhorse. Theyve won with previously unexpected names: Grover Cleveland, Woodrow Wilson, FDR, JFK, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and....Barack Obamaunexpected relative blank-slate personas to generate enthusiasm and turnout among youthful voters.
Are reporters on a Basement Watch to see who is going in and out of dementia Joe’s basement?
Everyone has this all wrong. The Powers that be are trying to decide who will take over once Biden is put in a senior citizens home a week after he is elected.
They are not looking for VP.
