Biden is faking it. Even during the Dem primary debates, he was coherent.
Secondly, the hand and eye coordination involved in Biden riding a bike does not prove mental fitness on his part, as people have talked about loved ones possessing the hand and eye coordination to drive a car, make turns, stop, accelerate while turning, parking, etc, only to discover their loved ones couldn’t remember where they lived or even their way home.

Why would they release something like this now and not wait until he is officially nominated? Do they want him replaced by a better campaigner?

One of my mom’s best friends got dementia so severe she became mute, but could still play the organ beautifully for a while after that.

What gets me is how he mixes up the decades that events have occurred in.
There is no doubt the man is declining. There will be no debates, period. By the way my 5 year old rode a bike just as well as Joe and didn’t have training wheels.
My theory is close to yours. I think the Dems ended up with Biden because of the Ukraine impeachment.
1. The real purpose of the impeachment was to get a court to give them Mueller’s grand jury materials and raw intel.
2. To do that, they needed to claim that those materials would be relevant to the Ukraine impeachment inquiry, so they had to connect the two.
3. Claiming that Trump was investigating the previous administration wouldn’t be much of a connection, so they had to claim he was pushing the investigation to interfere in the 2020 election.
4. To make that claim they had to claim that Biden was Trump’s “presumptive opponent” because he was the “presumptive nominee” which he most certainly was not. In fact, hardly anyone notable had even endorsed him by then.
5. But by repeating the mantra “presumptive opponent” early and often they basically blocked out any serious contender.
6. Who runs against the “presumptive nominee”? Cranks and ideologues.
7. So at a certain point those were the only two choices: Biden or a crank, and the party was then forced to swallow hard and accept Biden.
Suspect that rational Democrat operatives realize that the dementia issue will be used mercilessly ( as it should) by the Trump campaign. Its hard to believe that there are no behind the scenes efforts to ditch Biden. Not even Democrats really believe that the American people will elect an obviously demented, sickly old man to be their President.
