Trump's big win on relief orders – here's why Pelosi, Schumer are so unhappy
Fox News ^ | August 10 2020 | Liz Peek

What a smackdown!

Furious that Democrat leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer were blocking a bill to help Americans through the COVID-19 crisis, President Trump stepped up and got the job done, all by himself.

Over the weekend, he issued four executive orders that would extend modified unemployment relief to millions who are out of work, protect many from eviction from their homes, provide continued relief from student loan debt and suspend payroll taxes for employers and those earning less than $100,000. It may not be enough, but it was more than Democrats were offering.

The system was designed to cause gridlock on issues where there is not broad agreement. I do approve of a Republican President bypassing congress anymore than I approved of Obama doing so.

Think how much money these extra-constitutional orders have wasted.

I do approve of a Republican

I do *not* approve. Nothing like dunking on your own rant.

Trump should use this opportunity to ask congress to pass a law requiring that only bills be passed during crisis. He should also point out that Pelosi has a dismal 36% approval rating.

About that many will vote demrat no matter what. Many just brain dead, like the guy said his uncle Vito in NYC kept writing LaGuardia and FDR in until he died in 1980. Some because their particular group interest is more important than anything else. Example is a school administrator heard saying that Biden could have nude sex with a sheep on prime time TV and it wouldn't keep him from voting for him. The reason, everyone knows the dems pay off the public schools, especially admin overhead and are the biggest protector of the career public school employee. That counts before anything else.

90% of those 36% are homeless on the streets of San Francisco. Nancy has given them a place to live.

The local rag here printed an AP Er democrap release citing that trumps orders were paltry compared to what the dems wanted. No mention made that he has to work within the law as he is not ohola.

Because they oppose everything he does as if they have Oppositional Defiance Disorder, and they cannot oppose this with making themselves look really, really bad.

This bitch is all about corruption of blood. I know from personal experience. You think it’s a coincidence she was in charge of the house the last time the economy tanked. This bitch has plans, better stick a fork in her now.

I normally would not approve either. But we are fighting for the survival of the United States here. Given what the democrats have pulled to try to effect a coup d’etat, all bets are off. We can’t continue to bring beam bags to an artillery duel.

The way they have used this pandemic to steal our liberty is egregious at best, evil at worst.

The July jobs numbers came out. And voila, the push to cancel everything because of COVID kicked into the higher gear (was there a higher one?). Next up will be the stories about how, suddenly, every child who has so much as a skinned knee is a Covid case.

But looting and rioting in our cities is A-OK.

School or a football game? Not so much. That’s dangerous!

Obama maximized the "I have a phone and a pen". Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Turtle Mitch should bring back the simple majority. The Democrats will.

Weak assed Republicans.

The British Monday to Wednesday 50% subsidy scheme has worked an economic miracle at a small fraction of the cost of Trump’s $1200 voter bribes.

To avoid the long lines, I suggest 30% subsidies Monday through Wednesday and 20% the other days of the week.

Help to airlines might take the form of purchasing future government discounts, say flights at $20 a takeoff and five cents a mile.

The self-employed might be allowed to claim back 2018 and 2019 SE tax in exchange for a 5% future SS payout reduction.

This would be about three months of normal income, which might be stretched to last four months.

Employers withhold payroll tax and due to legal uncertainty will continue to do so.
