Crap. If you could wave a magic wand and turn every media outlet in the country into a completely fair, unbiased, honest reporter of facts and you would still have an insurmountable political divide in this country. The leaders and members on both sides of the aisle would guarantee that.

Even a slightly fair and somewhat unbiased reporter resulted in "leaders and members on both sides of the aisle" being tossed out.

I think that things changed in the MSM after Rod Blagojevich took the fall for the Democrats' scheme to sell the Senate seat being vacated by Barack Obama. This was the turning point for the MSM to turn a blind eye towards Democrats, while hounding Republicans out of office.

Prior to the MSM saving Obama (whom I believe was up to his ears in the scandal), the MSM would report the news. Post the Blago/Obama scandal, the MSM changed their playbook.
