KS is “red” on paper, but there are many Republicans there hardly distinguishable from most Democrats.

Sorry to disappoint you. People have this image of Kansas as a solid conservative state just because we have voted non-Republican in only five Presidential elections and we haven’t elected a Democrat to the Senate since 1932. But moderate/progressive Republicans are a thing here, and they must be taken into consideration. We need their votes to hold the seat.
Let us know the next time you elect any kind of Republican to a statewide office in Virginia.
