I came up with a great way for when I “had” to wear a mask.
I took a sharp pointy scissors and neatly took off the two back white gauzey parts of a regular mask - leaving only the outside mesh colored part. Improved the breathing 100% and still technically wearing what appears to be a mask.
I’ve had several mask nazi friends comment “that’s the thinnest mask I’ve ever seen!”
I simply told them that the inside is “transparent”. One was intrigued and said, “You mean it’s opaque?”. YES, that’s an even better sounding word! I’ve gone with that word ever since!

Opaque means “nontransparent”. Diaphanous is a fancy synonym for transparent or clear.
I tried that and it works pretty well, but a cheesecloth mask lets even more air through.
