The lady overreacted. No problem with her telling the kid but her next step was she should have gone to the employees and taken it up with them.
No, she needs to mind her own business. EVERYBODY is getting darned tired of all these stupid “karens” thinking they have the right to give out directives to strangers.
As far as walmart policy, it’s up to them if they want to enforce the masks. I’m pretty sure they don’t because they realize what a can of worms this is. These masks are usually worn in clean room environments. Having worked in a clean room my entire adult life, I can assure you, walmart is a very far cry from any clean room area. Clean rooms have entirely different air flow, the surfaces are wiped down with alcohol on a constant basis, the masks are thrown away every few hours. Everyone in the cleanroom is wearing gloves, hairnets w/ hood, shoecovers/ w booties, safety glasses. Compare that to a store and what is going on the mask from the masses. I don’t blame anybody for not wanting that petri dish mask near their nose and mouth.
The last I saw they said you had to wear masks. Someone below said they recently changed it again which changes everything I initially said.
If they say they are going to do something they need to do it. If they advertise there is a 10% senor discount on Tuesday, they need to honor it on Tuesday. No difference on masks. I thought it was dumb to require them, however.
I hate to think we have reached the stage where someone can’t quietly say, “Aren’t you required to wear a mask here?” but first go to the manager or policeman. Maybe you are right,
