Joe Biden still can't get his act together on who to pick for VP
American Thinker ^ | Monica Showalter

ugust 1, the day for Joe Biden to announce his running mate for the presidential election came and went, and instead of a rollout, Joe Biden pushed his vice presidential choice back another ten days.

*snip*

Sure, it's possible the whole story is a story of Biden being disorganized and addled, unable to make up his mind, given that he's 77 and as Peggy Noonan put it, an "old" 77. Just his inability to know what day it is and where he is supports that argument.

But it's just as likely that Democrats are in some fierce backfighting. After all, nobody thinks Joe Biden's really going to be president, the closest thing to president should Biden be elected would be the vice president. Democrats know about power for the taking when they see it.

Up until recent days, California's Sen. Kamala Harris been seen as having it in the bag.

Based on Biden's earlier notes, she was. And she wants that job badly, campaigning ferociously behind the scenes, to the point of planting negative articles in the press about her potential rivals.

But this ten-day delay says she's not a lock. Something about her signals Joe isn't good with her. And now she has to wait, undoubtedly ... climbing the wall.

Yet her potential rivals are no prizes, either. Besides Harris, who got her political start as Willie Brown's mistress and slept her way to the top, her rivals include Rep. Karen Bass of California, basically a Cuban operative, according to this impeccably researched Breitbart report, and Susan Rice, President Obama's mouthpiece of lies, and keeper of the Obama administration's plotting secrets.

Different rival factions of the Democrats are battling it out and Harris is the loser.

What VP candidate makes for a good president if Joe dies next year?

Holding out for Michele Obama.

I'm having a great mental image of Michelle and Barak sitting on the couch. Barak is trying to convince her to accept Bidens offer....

Joe’s handlers may be playing games with the timing, but the decision has already been made.

Joe must give an acceptance speech, right ? That will end his chances right there, as he can’t mumble through 2 sentences off teleprompter. The DNC must be panicked.

As for VP ?....the suspense is the only thing that might draw eyes to their convention/nomination, but that gets us back to my initial point.

They can’t hide him forever.

Option 1 - Hillary in blackface.

Option 2 - Elizabeth Warren in blackface.

Option 3 - Ruth Bader Ginsberg in blackface.

Ginsberg would be the best choice for VP - she has never been disbarred, she has not claimed to be an American Indian in order to get a job, and she can survive trip after trip to the hospital. And she's older than Joe.

Finally, black people who are going to vote democrat don't care if there is a black candidate on the ticket, they vote democrat anyway. The only people who really want to see a black candidate on the dem ticket are the white women who vote democrat, and they would support Ruthie more than any of the black women who have already been mentioned in the media.

Susan Rice has already been picked, they’re stalling to limit the damage and get the talking points down pat. Everything else is Kabuki.

“Karen” Bass is who ‘Bye-Done’ is going to pick and that ticket will crash and burn.

Clinton one month ago, looking like a blonde version of the latest version of Kamala Harris.

Biden’s probably stalling because Clinton’s surgeon told him to. Prove me wrong. I’d appreciate it.

They did, and they flew out of the bookstores too. Everyone was saying there would be no sell-through but was there ever! I knew the book business and I said here on FR no way is this contrived.

It eventually sold more than 10 million. Bestselling book of 2018.

I think Gator meant the 19th. It’s always confused me too because it’s the 19th and was passed in 1920.

Not that I want that woman anywhere near our gubmint but it will be interesting. Again, I think she's seriously being considered.

He might just try to delay to maintain any interest in his dying campaign.

I think you're onto it. Whoever gets picked, Joe disappears. The pick will be doing the campaigning. No media will talk to Joe. The MSM will try to normalize it, but the campaign will start to smell really fishy.

Joe isn't picking anyone, and the author admitted it. In every sense the DNC is picking (1) a candidate who isn't a candidate, (2) a VP who won't be VP, and (3) which power block will run the Presidency whether Joe can managed to be propped up or not. Hillary or the Moocher would signify the victory of that block with major spoils promised to the other - that is in essence what happened in 2008. Rice would be a concession to both. So who runs Rice? Because that faction will run the government.

This isn't going away if Trump wins. The reason the Dems don't have a Presidential candidate worthy of the name is because there isn't one, and the same is true of VP. That a buffoon such as AOC could constitute the face of the party simply shows how much of a moral and intellectual vacuum there really is, and power abhors a vacuum.

does anyone really think Basementman is doing the picking? He’s just sitting in his rocking chair in the basement among all the other bits and pieces of useless junk, waiting to be told who his replacement will be.

It’s possible they flew out of bookstores. Things are not always what they seem. While a little off topic to the fact that the party is trying to decide who the VP candidate will be so that the party doesn’t fracture, sales of books by political class should be seen with a jaundiced eye.

Former House speaker Jim Wright in 1988 was accused of benefiting improperly from speaking engagements related to his book “Reflections of a Public Man” - he resigned. The book was a collection of speeches. He had a deal where he would received 55% royalty on all copies sold. There were people who were buying in bulk. Jim’s farewell resignation speech - he admitted it was sold in bulk, even sold by members of his staff...for benevolent reasons of course because he is a demonkrap, those special people who never do anything wrong - even when they do.

He also said this as he resigned ...”... If monetary gain had been my primary interest, don’t you think I would have gone to one of the big Madison Avenue publications, the houses there that give you a big advance?”...

“And it is grievously hurtful to our society when vilification becomes an accepted form of political debate and negative campaigning becomes a full-time occupation; when members of each party become self-appointed vigilantes carrying out personal vendettas against members of the other party. In God’s name, that’s not what this institution is supposed to be all about. When vengeance becomes more desirable than vindication and harsh personal attacks upon one another’s motives and one another’s character drown out the quiet logic of serious debate on important issues, things that we ought to be involved ourselves in. Surely that’s unworthy of our institution and unworthy of our American political process. All of us in both political parties must resolve to bring this period of mindless cannibalism to an end!! We’ve done enough of it!

How political times have changed, not. I would not be surprised if it turns out that a significant number of m.obozo’s books were bulk purchases by party activists, at the minimum to ingratiate themselves with the obozos et al. We’re dealing with a former POTUS who at the end of his 2nd term put US assets in the form of currency on pallets and thought he was secretly flying it to Iran. Nothing is outside the limits.
