It isn’t just the GOP caving. Trump wants the $600 per week extended, too. Many employers can’t get their front line, lower level workers to come back to work because they can make more with no risk by staying home. Next will be the demand for foreign workers because they can’t fill their jobs.

Exactly! That’s happening now where I work. We’re very under staffed. One person doing the job of 5. Managers complain that nobody is applying. Not one person. They say “why would anybody willingly turn away $600 of doing nothing?”

What good is bringing manufacturing jobs back home if there is nobody willing to work?

As long as the business is opening, these people HAVE to go back to work. All they need to do is audit and track down who all was offered their job back and refused. Because at that point, you are ineligible for ANY unemployment. Not just the $600 bonus, but everything else you were getting from the State as well!
Employers aren't required to report employees who refuse to return, but they can. It needs to be MANDATORY for any employer with employees on unemployment.
