'Nobody likes me,' Trump complains, as even his allies fade
CNN ^ | 1 August 2020 | Kevin Liptak

"Nobody likes me," he said, confounded at how his administration's health experts could be receiving accolades while he is accused of ignoring and denying the raging public health crisis. "It can only be my personality," Trump said, "that's all."

That's one answer.

SNIP

Trump's attempts to regain standing have only exacerbated the divorce and led to worries he is weighing down his party's ability to move forward. Long dismissive of the Washington establishment, Trump has shown little concern at how his moves are forcing allies into awkward positions or alienating himself from longstanding norms.

SNIP

"I read it. I laughed. I thought my gosh this is going to consume a lot of people," said GOP Sen. Kevin Cramer. "I long ago stop being surprised by the things he does that other presidents wouldn't have done, but I also understand why he does it and why his base enjoys it so much."

President Trump’s Allies and supporters don’t fade. Never Trumpers and back stabbers[ one and the same] fade. They will not be missed. Nor acknowledged. President Trump all the way.

Could you use a much larger point size?

Yes. No sarcasm.

I think it's better when one feels intense to make a statement in larger type than to point one's rifle at the offensive person. The pen is mightier than the sword and insulting me will not leave you bored. I promise. Will that work for you?

I like the Stoics.
Epictetus is probably my favorite.
.........................................
My favorite of the Stoics is Marcus Aurelius. But I also very much like the Cynics, especially Demetrius (37-71 AD). He was the first Cynic of note in the city of Rome.

March 1945 - Patton at the Rhine River.

Famous pic of Gen. Patton standing on a bridge near Oppenheim, Germany, you can find online.

A friend of mine, then a US Army captain, had copies of the pictures made that day. Because the captain was (at the moment that the famous bridge photos were taken) a spotter looking for enemy artillery; the captain was located on the second floor of the home/building that you see in the distance above Patton's helmet.

The second floor window that is to your right, but at the other side of the building, facing a forest in the distance, where German artillery was located and were still firing.

The captain had both excellent eyesight and a strong math background. He had a jeep with a radio set and would find ways to move ahead of the US lines, in order to locate where he could spot German artillery shells in flight.

One day, he had entered the central courtyard area of an old town near the German border, when shells began to land close by --- the general architecture of the area being stone, there was a lot of flying rock and shrapnel.

The captain and radioman leaped from their jeep, down some stone steps alongside a church. From there, the captain observed and calculated the likely location of the German artillery, and during a break, returned to the jeep and radio'd the probable coordinates.

For which, the captain received the Silver Star from Patton himself.

The guy rose in rank to Colonel and became a college professor. h/t ct td miss you.

“Nobody likes me,”

I heard the President say that - but unlike SOME people, I have a sense of humor - so it cracked me up.

It’s great having a President who regularly cracks me up. Reminds me of the ‘80s. Everything Ronald Reagan said put a smile on my face one way or another - sometimes because the truth of it uplifted my spirits, and sometimes because he could see the humor in things and knew how to spread the joy.

Reagan’s timing, his lightening quickness, his surgical sharpness - the dumbfounded look on Democrat and fake news faces when they were the brunt of his jokes. Priceless.

It’s nice to have another President with a sense of humor. Some people don’t see it, but I sure do. In some ways Trump’s humor is more subtle than Reagan’s - apparently Democrats and fake news talking heads don’t get it at all.

Certainly, Trump’s humor is less refined and polished than Reagan’s - but, to me, that’s not at all a bad thing. It is also more familiar and more like the humor that pervades my every day life - like the humor that my children and I share in nearly every interaction.

I find the humor that I share with friends and family to be a lot more than just telling jokes - it is a way of enforcing open-mindedness - putting things in grand perspective - showing how small we are - demonstrating how easily things can be misunderstood. In short, I think humor makes us better, more forgiving people.

I think that fact alone will be enough to cause the Democrats to lose in November. The fact that they have no sense of humor. The fact that they have a dismal outlook and a bleak vision of the future. The fact that they take no pride in America - and no joy in telling the truth.

Their attempts at humor always fall flat, because real humor stems from wisdom and truth. As Homer Simpson famously said: “It’s funny because it’s true!” (which, come to think of it, is both funny and it’s true).

I don’t want to spend the few years I have left in a humorless world listening to Democrat “woke” lectures and platitudes.

Please Lord, give me another four years of President Trump!

Please, please, please.

You are sooo RIGHT.

He said it in jest, everyone...including the drooling press. But they are too stupid to know that he does NOT CARE that the “fake news” does not like him.

He does NOT give a......shiny penny.

And it becomes even funnier when the press APPEARS to take it seriously. Then Pres goes on to the next finger in their eyes.

Fine, as long as you understand that what you did is the equivalent of shouting in all upper case, and hence unreadable.

The rest us just nonsense

If I’d known my wish would be granted that fast, I would have wished for...

Sixteen more years of Trump.
California secedes and and NY & NJ turn red.
Republicans win house & Senate in red wave.
Romney gets recalled.
Mark Levine and Lou Dobbs on the Supreme Court.
Tesla stock goes up to $7000.
Dissolve Federal reserve and go back on the gold standard.
Obama and minions in jail.
$1,000,000 fine for hiring illegals.

Get ready for an incredible mess during the election.

***********

Mess...... Well if it becomes a mail in vote election I agree
that things will be vastly different.

It will be largest vote count ever.....
Mass crowds protesting will have a vote day protest. Bring your
ballot and we'll have protest vote gathering/march/food/beer,

I don't know how many of the protesters are voters but with nothing
else to do they can have sign up events, fill out your ballot marches,
It will be a different election for sure. The mail system will be
inundated at times with mail outs and then returns.
