They make an interesting case study. IIRC Montgomery is either the richest county in the US or near the top, and is overwhelmingly white. Adjacent PG County is by far the wealthiest majority-black county in the US. Both counties are so far to the left that Fidel Castro would be too conservative for them. If my daughter did not live there I would never even drive through it, much less visit.
