” President Clinton has never been to the island,
Aha, so *President* Clinton never visited the island but maybe *ex-President* Clinton did?
With Billy Jeff, always be on the lookout out for semantic denials Remember all the phony hair-splitting he tried with Ken Starr? “It all depends on what the definition of IS is.” There is no sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky because (1) fellatio is not sexual intercourse; or alternatively (2) there “is” no sexual relationship because, at this particular instant, Clinton and Lewinsky are not engaged in a sexual act.
“ President Clinton has never been to the island,
Aha, so *President* Clinton never visited the island but maybe *ex-President* Clinton did?”
You understand their word games well. From the Wayback Machine:
Clinton said his statement that “there is nothing going on between us” had been truthful because he had no ongoing relationship with Lewinsky at the time he was questioned, and “It depends upon what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is.”
Thank you for reminding us how any statement by the Clintons need to be interpreted.
On Tucker last night, Dershowitz repeatedly and emphatically denied the allegation against him, and repeatedly called the accuser a liar. Near the end of the segment he slipped in one time that there was no testimony/evidence against Clinton other than the liar. Tucker quickly interjected, in essence saying while testimony cannot be compelled from his assigned secret service agents, Clinton’s name is on the jet’s manifest. Maybe Dershowitz is innocent, but he protested too much too much to raise the eyebrow of maybe there is some fire behind the smoke...especially since he tried to downplay how well he knew Epstein, more as a attorney-client and Harvard connection, though Dershowitz, with his family received gratis use of some apartment owned by Epstein.
You can bet Clinton watched Tucker last night. I need to find out when his statement came out yesterday - before or after Dershowitz claim that there was no evidence on Clinton. Was Dershowitz communicating to Clinton via Fox .... like when Clinton was on camera denying any sexual relationship with Lewinsky, wearing the tie she gave him as a present.
The correct term for Bill is Former President. Parsing the statement as you did, the spokesperson maybe correct that President Clinton did not visit the island. So the follow up question from the press based upon The Clintons twisting words would have been to ask has Former President Clinton ever been to the Epstein island, Little St. James, in the US Virgin Islands?.
Exactly what I was thinking. While he was president...Clinton did not go there...
....you can always tell when he is lying...there is always a tiny bit of extra words or some words left out......all they had to say was “Bill J. Clinton never went there ever” By using the term “president” it also appeals to the sentiment of generally giving respect to someone who holds high office.
