I’ve been reading up on August Pinochet. He was a great man, in that he saved his country from the horror of becoming another Cuba and Soviet client state.
I agree. Pinochet was a hero and when he was done with the job he was asked to do he stood down and peacefully transferred power back to the elected government.
The only other such general who ever walked away from power like that is George Washington.
