I have wondered aloud and many times here on FR: “Why not fire hoses to disperse the protestors and wash them to the gutters where they belong?”
Other countries, many other countries do this and it works very well.
Why not fire hoses or water cannon?

Because people still remember the news footage of the Birmingham and Memphis PD using firehouses to brutalize the civil rights marchers, that’s why. Nobody wants to open themselves up to that comparison.

We used fire hoses in Copenhagen in ‘68 when some anti war assclowns ‘peacefully protested’ our presence. Probably prohibited today due to glow bull climate disruption or something,
