The way the rule is writen a doctor in Ohio can not prescribe HCQ in the state of Ohio for any reason without going before the State Pharmacy Board. Patients that have been getting the drug for years, like Lupus can no longer get the drug.

This is an outrage of the highest order.
Lawsuits should be filed....and publicity should be given to this outrage.

This is totally ridiculous. The drug has been used for decades.
Its cheap, so I smell a rat! I smell drug company interference and probably loads of investors involved in a new very expensive drug that will be deemed as the only treatment.

I never heard of such an outrageous thing, that a “board” gets to decide what drugs you can get. The members of this “board” should be put on trial ASAP. I am sure they are not within the law on this. And, it could start a dangerous trend.

Gee, the CDC does not list any heart issues with the drug, see the following:

Looks like the national stockpile needs to be directly dispersed to doctors that request it.

This is TERRIBLE. The left has gone completely over the edge.
Someone I know, who is 71, was hospitalized in April with many symptoms similar to COVID-19. He was on a ventilator for 8 days. For the first 2.5 days, he was given the HCQ regimen, while they waited for his COVID test results, which were negative. He survived, and is doing very well now, health-wise. I can’t help but thing the HCQ treatments were instrumental in his recovery.

Didn't Roe v Wade find a Constitutional right to privacy in the doctor patient relationship?
How can the board interfere here?

This is definitely a political decision and not a science-based one. India and other countries that use HCQ regularly must view our "health" mavens as complete lunatics. Disgraceful and embarrassing.

Banning an FDA approved drug. Seems borderline criminal.

"The drug may also cause serious cardiac side effects, according to the Food and Drug Administration."
I've seen studies that come down on both sides of the question of whether HCQ is effective against Covid-19, but this claim that it is suddenly dangerous after decades of safe use - even long-term use, not the brief course recommended for treating COVID-19 - by millions of people is one that really raises a red flag that this is all political.
Any drug - even OTC drugs - has counterindications and warnings, but that doesn't prevent them from being available. Listen to any drug ad on TV and the list of possible complications is both long and spooky, but these drugs are sold every day of the year.

Basically, its a patient safety issue, McNamee lied. Were looking at the fact that Trump recommended it to determine whats best for his political opponents in Ohio.

Wow ... aint science great?
Fortunately, this is just one state in our 50 state laboratory of democracy.
Imagine the total control they would have over us/US now if the entire nation was forced to live under their one provider rule of obamacare or Hillarycare!
The only options for treatment would only be what they allowed if/when they allowed them.
But hey, maybe if you beg a little .... and grovel, too ... things might go better for you. I hear They like that.
Kinda like what Nadler wanted Barr to do when Nadler had total power. Beg me and grovel or theres no bathroom break for you!
See how they are? They are a bad bunch of Luke 16:10 failures, every freaking one of them.
Which makes us/US the worlds biggest fools ever, since we keep electing and reelecting them to rule over us/US again and again, election after election.

The article says they "REVERSED THE BAN!"
The boards shift came after Gov. Mike DeWine asked the state pharmacy board on Thursday morning to rescind its plan to ban hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine as treatments for the virus.
