Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???
You 150% correct on all you said. I remember telling my brother after the 2016 election, “Now Mr. Trump needs to retire his cell phone and twitter account.”
Don’t get me wrong. I will vote, enthusiastically for him, but, to my way of thinking, the constant tweeting has not and is not helping his campaign.
I am aware that Congress can do it. Article II-Section 1 - Clause 4. I should have been more clear: The idea that HE can do it is unconstitutional. Now - I know that is not what he said - and right now the date is set and it would have to be changed by the congress - which we know is not going to happen.
I’m happy to agree to disagree & I respect your view point. To me there is a persistent problem (overdoing covid restrictions as a weapon). Science and direct statements from POTUS + most scientists (other than Fauci the mountebank) haven’t successfully addressed the issue.
It’s a tremendous problem because the success will breed more and more unjustifiable restrictions and may precipitate a mail in election. Then we will have an all Left Government because they cheat best.
POTUS is attacking the problem by thinking outside the box & using psychology. I am in total agreement with his choice of tactics since direct isn’t working & we have less than 100 days. The Right has been thinking reason & logic will sway people and produce results but they failed on that course for decades. Now that they have someone who can beat the left by thinking outside the box they are outraged. The Left is at war and it is time America realized that losing is not an option.
Think about POTUS other outrageous tweets & statements. They have all served to illuminate an issue & provoke discussion. In the end they have advanced MAGA. Look at the rocket man comment, look at “They spied on me”. One of DJT’s talents is to re-examine what passes for a given.

The Left tries to control us by creating a drumbeat. They get the news and all their faces from Congress, prior office holders etc repeating the same lies and half truths to create a gestalt that there is no honest disagreement. They embolden each other.
When POTUS makes a tweet like this instead of pushing back he is agreeing, woah, this is so bad we better put off the election. It cuts the legs out from under them because suddenly the whole chorus they created is reinforcing POTUS point that this is serious enough to delay the election.
That puts them in disarray and the chorus needs to work up a more nuanced message.
POTUS uses that time to push back on the fake facts.

There are many here who know what The President did here as more than the "fashionable" trolling.
His Tweet says a lot about the rot of our political and journalistic climate.
One could see the Dems using this delay strategy if Biden is really medically unfit and not playing an act.
Lots of ballots would need to be changed to have Biden name removed and Hillary, the reluctant relief pitcher,to come in and close the game.
I could absolutely see the Dems party begging and pleading for an election delay then.
When Trump asks questions, it may be that he already knows the answer.
But gets a question out there to promote response.
Especially from his enemies.
I am not talking about leftists, I am talking about regular people. If they don’t get it, it will not help him. He is in a tough spot right now and his popularity is going in the wrong direction with moderates. COVID has wiped out all the good he did economically and he is basically starting out at “GO” again. This is not 2016 and The left is not treating him as a joke in this election, they are going after him with both barrels blazing, so he needs to be a little bit more careful with what he says and tweets.
I’ll check back with you in a couple weeks when we see how this has unfolded. People have said the same thing many many times before but results have not supported the thesis.

Freepers are knowledgeable about so many different things. I learn something new here almost every day. And some posts give me a lot to think about. Your post is an example of that.
Unfortunately some posters (not you) include insults in their otherwise good posts. I wish they could see that these insults weaken what they have to say.

I don’t buy the polls, so I do not agree there is any loss of popularity. I agree that I will be much happier when the election is past because the Left cheats!

It does absolutely no good. I am a strong Trump supporter but I am getting pis@ed at his tweets.
I don’t believe all the polls but pretty much every poll now has the President losing popularity and that trend cannot be ignored. As I wrote on another post, I personally know More than one person who were die hard Trump who now are ho hum and it is all because of COVID. They won’t vote for Biden but they might not vote period. We still believe in him but Remember that all the good things President Trump did economically in the first 3 years are mostly destroyed now and a lot of people fairly and unfairly blame him. The buck stops at his desk.
Nobody is talking about postponing the election except Trump. Nobody is going to talk about postponing the election except Trump. Nobody wants to postpone the election except Trump. It would need congressional approval and no House member is going to vote for a bill that would put them all out of office. No Senate member would vote for a bill that would put a third of them out of office. If this is some kind of troll then it's a waste of time.
