I like the rope-a-dope analogy. Let’s face it. Biden is an incredibly weak opponent, who’s likely to soon be saddle with a race-hustler running mate. As much as it’d be nice if polls were showing a Trump landslide, the reality is that if the polls were showing Biden losing at this point, the Dems would be forced into giving him the hook right now... and installing someone who doesn’t have, you know, senile dementia. In order to for Biden to remain in the race (as the extremely beatable opponent), we pretty much need him to be winning at this point.
That’s a good point. He isn’t technically the nominee yet anyway, but if they thought he didn’t at least have a shot at winning they would swap him out. Though they do love him, because they can control him and force their own agenda on him and run it behind his back.
It’s been said before, but voting for Biden is voting for his veep. And there is an opportunity to weave the middle there... ignore his #2 for the most part and hammer on Biden. He will have to either concede that he’s an empty suit standing in for someone else, or stand and defend his record as a leader. Neither a good choice for him.
And if Kamala is his #2, she’s got a few blind spots of her own to deal with.
