President Trump said Wednesday that the U.S. is considering banning the social media app TikTok amid fears that it could be used by China to spy on Americans.
'We're looking at TikTok, we're thinking about making a decision,' he told reporters in the South Lawn before departing the White House for a day trip to Texas.
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, who stood alongside Trump and addressed reporters, said TikTok is being looked at by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, which reviews deals by foreign acquirers for potential national security risks.

That bit of word salad he put out there has even his staunchest supporters cringing and scratching their heads.
You are highly unlikely to get the ChiComs to behave by hinting that you are thinking of banning their app.
Do it ! It's called reciprocity, a perfectly legal concept in international relations !
If this in itself,removing a idiotic app, simply hurts re-election chances,our country is more dead than I thought.
The fact that Kellyanne Conway was living under the same roof with a teen who had it on her phone is a major deal IMHO.
It was no doubt eavesdropping on Kellyanne during her phone calls with POTUS and White House officials. At the very least they need to start banning it for staffers and their immediate families.
