President Trump is weak and has limited options due to no support from his own party. Every time he tries to engage these domestic terrorists he is hit from all sides. Not just Dems and Fake News but his own admin (Esper and Milley after the church), his own party (Rand Paul “demilitarize the police”), etc.
The bottom line is POTUS can’t do it alone. He needs the GOP Senate on his flanks, subpoenaing and demanding federal action. That won’t be happening, obviously.
