You've got to be pretty desperate if you flee to New Jersey. That's like the survivors of Hiroshima fleeing to Nagasaki.

Yeah, as an ex NJ guy (45 yrs) I have to agree. But it is a great example of relativity when you consider the NYC cost of living versus a very large part of NJ.
Right now President Trump is at his golf club in Bedminster New Jersey it is in a beautiful area west of New York City. It is quite pricey as it is horse country. If you go a little farther west than Bedminster, you will come to some counties in New Jersey that are made up of small towns where there are plenty of American flags waving and even Trump signs.
Most people don’t want to leave the area entirely, if they have friends family etc.
Sure some will flee for west or south, but many will settle in New Jersey. The Real Estate sales in these areas are proving this.
More and more properties in NY are for sale while less and less homes for sale in Jersey.
