Half the current CCV deaths in Texas are in border counties. It should be super easy to find out the nationalities of those dying, if someone was curious.

Our media stopped being curious about 12 years ago.

Half and more in Pa came from Ny city and Phil. and why the Eastern border of Pa was hammered with covid. I watched the numbers alarmingly escalate very early on, but DiBasio and Cuomo refused to do anything at all in their state.
So no surprise mexicans with dual citizens would crss into US for medical assist.

Hey State Sen. Martin Quezada, you cannot solve a problem with bad data. This is not racist, it is just pointing out the REAL situation so it can be addressed. Pollical Correctness will kill us!

One of the major arguments against illegal immigration has always been the possible spread of infectious disease. Admitting that it is now actually happening means admitting a policy failure. It is only natural that the Left prefers to scream “Racism!” instead of conceding the truth - and that RINOs like Ducey quickly knuckle under.

Do you recall where you read this news?

If Mexico starts offering HCQ over the counter, the flow could slow or stop.

Especially if you tell them DRs here will let gringos die rather than prescribe “Trump pills”

The border city of McAllen, TX is one of the top hot spots in the whole country now.

CBP Commissioner Mike Morgan estimated that about 85% of the COVID patients coming over from Mexico were US citizens, or green card holders. That percentage will probably shift over time, due to multiple factors. But those people can’t just be shut out.

The important thing is to block other Nationals who are infected, and to base our policies (re-opening or lockdown) on the real causes of the cases we are managing, rather than falsely assuming that reopening is causing the effects, that are actually caused by conditions in Mexico.

What makes you think he wants to solve the problem?

According to a health care worker on a local morning radio program in Arizona abou 2 weeks ago, more than 50% of current patients at the ER are from Mexico.

why not set up field hospitals at the border on the Mexican side? Let Mexico pay for them and any medical help we supply.Anyone crossing into our country whether they are residents or holders of dual citizenship or even illegals if testing positive should be held there until treated and they test negative.

Seems pretty damn simple to me.

Never in the news, but If you add up the deaths in Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, Zapata, Webb, Maverick, Kinney, ValVerde, El Paso, Etc. and you get almost 1/2 the daily Texas total:

Of Yesterdays 200 deaths, just adding 6 of the counties within 60 miles of the Rio Grand adds up to 90 deaths.

Hidalgo County (McCallen) has 775K population (less than 1/2 the population of Tarrant (Fort Worth), but will have 50% more deaths by next Tuesday (at the current rate).

“Half the current CCV deaths in Texas are in border counties”

Some proportion of the CCV deaths elsewhere in the State, are likely from patients who were transferred to other hospitals, from those border counties (i.e., Mexico).

Thanks. Very insightful observation.

I’m certain of that. Adding counties nearish the border like Nueces, pushes the deaths over the 1/2 texas total mark.

The Border counties are maybe 15% of the Texas population but 1/2 the deaths. The numbers don’t add up.

I spoke to a lady yesterday who said the people returning from Mexico after spending the first few weeks of summer there are bringing lots of cases here. Plus, when they go to the emergency room, they take the entire family. Thus, everyone of them has to be tested. She said at the E.R. where she worked over the weekend, one family of 9 showed up. No masks, no idea of proper protocols, and not a one of them spoke English. Made my blood boil!

When patients get transferred to a hospital in another County, there is also a good chance that they will be double counted - reported in each County’s totals, and never de-conflicted.

No doubt Mexico would have had zero infections had Trump better handled the Trump virus.
